Idea of an easy and quickly build kayak has fascinated me for a while. A boat which can be made with minimal building effort – if I hit rocks etc I don´t have to loose my good night sleep- Still it should be good to paddle on rivers and lakes. Crocodude is designed for that purpose.
Unfolded panel shapes are super simple, side panels for example has only straight lines. It doesn´t have sea kayaks ergonomics, but It aren´t that bad. I changed original DIY footbraces for bit more comfortable ones – see 3d model and placing padding over knees make it good enough for weekend trips. Boat might look a bit coarse, but painting can make it look totally brutal. It paddles better than you might imagine. As a flat bottom boat, it punches a bit when paddling against waves and surfs easily for downwind. Take a look videos below :
